A Study on the Biometrical Indices of the Korean Cirl Students

Abstract
|
|
|
The present worker has performed the biometry in the 670 Korean girl students whose ages are 18 or 19 years old. After the calculation of cephalic index, physiognomical face index, morphological face index, relative span, relative acromial, relative pelvic breadth and pelvic-acromial index, the following conclusions have been drawn.
1. The averages of cephalic index, physiognomical face index and morphological face index are 86.03 0.14. 135.504-0.24, 83.180.16 respectively. The cephalic and facial types are hyperbrachycephalic and mesoprosopic.
2. The averages of relative span, acromial and pelvic breadth are 98.810.15, 22.020.05, 19.230.04 respectively. The decrease of relative span and the increase of relative pelvic breadth are due to the increases of stature and pelvic breadth after the World War II.
3. The average of pelvic-acromial index is 87.560.24 and the increase is due to the increase of pelvic breadth after the World War II.
4. No remarkable differences are found among the two groups of age and among the various areas in the all indices.
